Hughesnet internet service is a huge rip-off. They promise fast download speed of up to 2MB per second, but you only get around 100 KB per second. When you call to complain, they state that download speeds are not guaranteed. They also have a Fair Access Policy. That means that you cannot download more than a certain amount in one 24 hour period, 375MB in my case. If you do, they cut your bandwidth down to 15KB per second! I would recommend to all dial-up users who are considering Hughesnet to save your money, dial-up speeds are what you will get with Hughesnet.
Fast? Bah! Reliable? My ass. Dial-up is high speed compared to HughesNet. Even if they are only required to provide connection and not speed, they fail utterly at that.
